Planning a beachside wedding with beautiful landscape full of sand, sea breeze, palm trees, and waves crashing against the rocks is a romantic setting to have a wedding. You can also create a beachside atmosphere without being beachside.

If your planning a beachside wedding you might want to also consider these locations...

* Beach seaside gazebo

* Beach house or private beach

* Beach resort

* On a boat or yacht

* Marina

* Bay or lakeside

* Seaside, lakeside or river restaurant

* Seafood restaurant

* Hotel or backyard pool

If your going to have your wedding in the sand, go barefoot. For a more casual look, wear a sundress, halter, bare back or tea length dress.

The groom can wear a linen suite, dress shirt with slacks or a light colored shirt and linen pants. For a more casual look he can wear a hawaiian shirt and white pants. Guests can also dress more casual, with Hawaiian shirts and sundresses or you can have everyone wear white.

A beachside wedding is a unique romantic setting. Take full advantage of the ocean backdrop and natural surroundings. Create an island flair by using palm trees for outdoor locations.

Add an arch to frame the ceremony site. Make a four footed chuppah out of bamboo poles. Decorate the arch with tropical flowers and palm leaves or flowing fabric. Make it simple with a tropical arch with palm trees or leaves.

Arrange sea shells down the ceremony aisle along the border, add tiki torches for a tropical flair.

Incorporate natural items into your glass vase decorations such as candles, sand, shells, seaglass or rock salt. Float candles in tall cylinder glass vases and make seashell candles filled with melted beeswax. Use seashells in your table settings and centerpieces.

For a romantic affect place luminaries everywhere. Light an evening wedding with tiki torches to light pathways. String lights and lanterns in the trees. Create an elegant mood by placing small glass tealight candle holders in the sand.

Serve fresh tropical fruits and salads, light pasta salads, fresh fish, grilled shrimp and a tropical signature island drink.

Use a row boat or large galvanized pail, filled with ice to keep your canned or bottled beverages cold. Rent a Margarita or Pina Colada machine to keep your guest cool.

Since you are considering a beach theme wedding cake , chocolate sea shells or shells made from sugar can be used to decorate the cake.

Hire a steel drum band or play tropical music cd's.

Come up with creative wedding favors by giving your guests perfect sand dollars, seashells or beach themed candles. Tie a personalized tag on a large starfish or sandollars to make a great wedding favor.

Give your guest shell shaped chocolates or sand dollar cookies wrapped in cello bags. Fill a glass votive with sand or small shells and add a candle, wrap in a clear cello bag and tie with a bow.

When planning your wedding find out the rules, regulations and restrictions if your going to have your wedding on the beach or a seaside location.

Plan your wedding in the late afternoon or evening when the sun is going down and not as hot for your guests. There will be less sunbathers during this time so your photographs can be of the wedding rather than sunbathers and onlookers.

Minimize any problems by having your wedding on the beach and having your reception at another location off the beach. This way weather is not going to be a factor.

Weather can play a big part of your beachside wedding. Plan your wedding during dry months and have an alternate plan. You may want to make sure there are bathroom facilities close to the wedding location. Make sure they will be unlocked, clean, and stocked during your wedding. Bring extra supplies for your guests.
